Our law firm originally known as Mike Igbokwe & Company (registered in 1990) which was superseded by Mike Igbokwe (SAN) & Co in 2004, is a law firm engaged mainly in corporate, commercial, maritime, banking, insurance, energy, environmental, real property and criminal law practice, consultancy, arbitration that delivers quality and outstanding client service and provides fulfilling careers and professional satisfaction to the highest standards.
The law firm had over the years been providing legal services including legal advice, opinions and consultations, legal documentation and representations in Court in its key areas of legal practice to shipping and oil and gas companies, organisations of all sizes whether large multi-national corporations or foreign or local corporations, enterprises and private entrepreneurs. It is committed to law practice and is consistently developing and nurturing long-lasting relationships with clients and defining issues, proposing legal solutions and implementing changes which suit their commercial needs and objectives and significantly add value to the clients’ end products.
Mike Igbokwe (SAN) & Co is strongly committed to achieving clients’ goals, advancing and or protecting their interests first by helping to avoid expensive litigation and financial loss through commercial dispute resolution methods, and second when litigation becomes inevitable, stoutly defending or pursuing their interests whenever threatened. It also upholds uprightness in its dealings and maintains the strictest confidentiality in its handling of the affairs and performance of the instructions of its various clients on the basis of professionally privileged communication (except where otherwise compelled by law), and does not knowingly permit a conflict of interest that may adversely affect any of its clients.
The Law Firm is structured in such a way as to enable it furnish clients with competitively priced “personal-touch”, flexible service and attention. Headed by its Principal Counsel, Mr. Mike I. Igbokwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (equivalent to the English Queen’s Counsel), a Member of the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Maritime Lawyers Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Nig) and other organizations, it has other Associates and Administrative staff. Its Staff continuously participate in various international and local conferences relevant to its key areas of practice in order to brush up, update and keep abreast of current trends in law and to acquire specific and current skills in law practice for the purpose of advancing and or protecting clients’ interests either in legal documentation or dispute resolution. Its Principal Counsel is a member of various professional associations in Nigeria and abroad.
